How to Play

Welcome to the EIHL Dream Team—where you become the Head Coach and GM! Build your squad, outsmart your mates, and compete for bragging rights and prizes throughout the Elite Ice Hockey League and Challenge Cup season.

Whether you’re a stathead, superfan, or just here for fun and raise some money for charity, this guide will get you off the bench and into the action.

🏒 Step 1: Build Your Team

  • Roster Requirements:
    • 1 Netminder
    • 6 Defencemen
    • 12 Forwards
  • Club Limit: Maximum 3 players from any one EIHL team.
  • Brit Limit: Minimum of 5 British Players in your whole team.
  • The Captain: A captain of your team (needs to be in your team already) who will earn double points.

Choose wisely!

🔁 Step 2: Trading

  • Each week you’ll be able to made 3 changes per week, unless stated otherwise due to teams at Continental Cup etc.
  • You can also change your Captain each week

🔄 Step 3: The Wildcard

  • Use your Wildcard (once per season) to make unlimited changes for free!

Pro tip: Save your wildcard for injury chaos or if you really want to make more than 3 changes in one week.

📈 Step 4: How to Score Points!

I guess this is the most important part after working out your team selection! Here is how each player can score and lose points!

🧠 Tip: Fights reward players… but other penalties can cost you big! Discipline counts!

👍 Positive Point Scoring

Netminders

  • 80-84% SVS = +1
  • 85-89% SVS = +2
  • 90%+ SVS = +3
  • Shutout +5
  • Fight +5
  • Assist +10
  • Goal +20

Defencemen

  • Assist +3
  • Goal +5
  • Fight +3
  • PP Goal +6
  • Shorthanded Goal +6
  • Overtime/Shootout GWG +6
  • Shutout +4

Forwards

  • Assist +3
  • Goal +4
  • Fight +3
  • PP Goal +5
  • Shorthanded Goal +5
  • Overtime/Shootout GWG +5
  • Hat Trick Bonus +3 extra on top of goal points
  • Shutout +4

👎 Negative Point Scoring

Team Penalty

  • Too Many Men -1 for all players on the offending team

Netminder/Defencemen

  • Minor Penalty -1
  • Major Penalty -2 (fighting not included)
  • 10 Minute Penalty -3
  • Game Penalty -5

Forwards

  • Minor Penalty -1
  • Major Penalty -2 (fighting not included)
  • 10 Minute Penalty -3
